I went to Maui! This was my first time to Maui and I didn’t have any expectations beyond getting to spend a week with my girls, Alana, Molly, and Lily. Here are a couple (okay, all) of my highlights:
Stopping at a wine shop after getting off the plane to buy our very first authentic poke bowls and then eating them on the beach.
Watching the bluest blue waves crash on the shore – v v therapeutic.
Seeing a pineapple farm and tasting all the pineapples!
Checking out fresh from the farm, pulled out of the ground taro root.
The shock of seeing what banana trees look like.
Spam musubi.
Dole whip.
The sunrise at Haleakala.
Seeing the whales from a boat in the bay.
Making flower crowns at Feast Hawaii.
The farm stands full of local Hawaii mangos at Ag Fest. (Lee’s Mangos forever!)
A dreamy hike into Iao Valley.
All the shave ice, especially with mac nut ice cream and chewy soft mochi bits!
Thank you to Visit Maui for a wonderful week! And a big thank you to Alana, Molls, and Lils for a magical time :)
PS – All the photos in this post were off of the super tiny, absolutely handy Nikon 1 V3 with an 18.5mm. I loved the small format size and was super impressed with the quality and tone of the photos. Thanks Nikon for the loan!
PPS – Not pictured, but definitely loved, my perfect lil Incase backpack that went everywhere with me on the island.
